Sunn Concert Lead/Bass preamp pedal (KONSERT)

KONSERT’s circuit is a replica of the preamp used by Sunn for the Concert series amplifier (it was the same for both the Lead and Bass version). In our pedal format version a few more features were added to make it more versatile. Internally, an extra power supply module has been included in order to provide the necessary dual rail supply voltages the original preamp was using. All you need to power KONSERT is the typical 9V pedal power supply.

Alternative Voicing toggle switch: Flipping this switch to the Alt.Voicing position gives you a modified frequency response from the EQ, with less bass and slightly altered mids & treble.
Instr.>LINE toggle switch: When flipped right, it makes Instr.Out act as LINE OUT while also making it bypass-able through bypass-footswitch. Be careful of the high volume output.
BOOST knob: fine tunes the amount of Boost when Boost-footswitch is engaged. This knob was added to make the boost function more versatile, because the truth is that in many cases the boost footswitch made the output too loud for 'on-the-fly' use.
MASTER knob: sets the overall output volume. This extra volume control was added because the VOL of the original circuit was not purely a volume control but also acted as secondary gain knob. Now, the Master knob allows you to Max out the VOL knob and still keep the output signal in reasonable levels, taking advantage of the full gain capabilities of the preamp. Note: Master knob may not mute 100% the output when the VOL is set high. For muting the output completely set the VOL knob at minimum.
Buffered THRU: Pick your dry input signal from this buffered output and route it wherever you may need it without affecting the preamp or the input signal itself.

Instrument Out: Connect the preamp to your pedals. (can be bypassed)
Line Out: connect directly to a power amp.
XLR Out: Balanced output for connection with audio consoles etc.
Left footswitch: Bypass.
Middle footswitch: Boost ON/OFF
Right footswitch: Distort ON/OFF
DISTORT: Sets the primary gain level. Until ‘noon’ its subtle, after noon it gets aggressive.
VOL: sets the volume between stages internally like the original preamp did and also works as secondary gain control. Set it at minimum if you want to mute the output completely.
EQ knobs: Bass / Mids / Treble
Brite toggle switch: Change the input setting Normal/Brite.
Treble Boost toggle switch: Brighten your sound even more.
